Job Description:

The Division of Humanities, Fine, and Performing Arts at Northwest Florida State College invites applications for a position in Applied Voice and Theory beginning Fall 2024. We encourage applications from individuals who have experience working with diverse student populations, students in a community college setting, and those who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, scholarship, and service. The adjunct in this position will teach Applied Voice, Music Theory, and other music courses as needed. Provide instruction in Applied Voice for majors and non-majors.
Participate in juried assessment of Voice majors.
Teach courses in the four-semester music theory & sight singing sequence.
Teach music courses in the General Education Core.
Direct choral ensemble(s).
Participate on college committees as assigned.
Participate in division recruitment activities.
Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Humanities, Fine & Performing Arts Division.

Requirements:

Minimum of a Master’s degree in Music Performance – Voice; OR other related Master’s in Music with 18 graduate hours in Voice from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution required.
Basic piano proficiency required; advanced piano proficiency preferred.
Minimum one year of postsecondary teaching experience required.
Demonstrated commitment to community involvement required.
Excellent oral and written communication required.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experience directing choral ensembles strongly preferred.
Documented record of professional performance experience preferred. •All degrees must be from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution.
