Job Details:

The Townsend School of Music at Mercer University seeks a specialist in voice and opera production as a Visiting Faculty of Voice for the 2025-26 academic year.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching applied voice, opera workshop, and related vocal courses. Rank is dependent upon qualifications of the selected candidate. This is a one-year visiting appointment with the possibility of renewal. The Townsend School of Music is looking for a person committed to the education of vocal students in studio voice and opera studies. The program prepares young vocal artists who have a passion for vocal performance, operatic productions, and choral music ensemble. Candidates must be able to demonstrate proper vocal techniques by way of classroom instruction and public performances.

Qualifications:

An earned doctorate from an accredited university/college is preferred, but ABD will be considered at the rank of Instructor. Collegiate teaching experience through directing opera productions and applied voice are required. Good administrative skills are necessary. Candidates should complete the brief online application and a letter of interest, current curriculum vita, and contact information for three references to this application. Selection of the final candidate is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
