Description Job Summary Teach strings lessons, ensembles, and corresponding classes under the supervision of the Coordinator of String Activities and the leadership of the Dean of the Winters School of Music. Duties and Responsibilities This job description does not state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Teach strings lessons on instruments of expertise
Coach string quartets
Assist the Coordinator of String Activities with the orchestra as needed
Teach classes as assigned in the WSM
Work with the Coordinator of String Activities and the Dean of the Winters School of Music for an annual budget.
Develop and maintain an active recruitment strategy for the Strings Department.
Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Strings Activities and the Dean of the School of Music.
Qualifications Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Music from a regionally accredited institution
Proven experience in strings education Preferred Qualifications Collegiate teaching experience
18 hours of graduate cello experience
Terminal degree in Music from a regionally accredited institution Physical Demands Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Must have vision to read small print and a computer screen
Must have the mobility to move around rehearsal spaces and music facilities
Must have the ability to lift and carry 25+ pounds
