Lander University The Department of Art at Lander University invites applications for a one year visiting faculty position in Art Education that begins on August 15, 2025. Faculty rank and salary are based upon qualifications and experience. Lander University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and the Council of Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The Department offers B.A., B.F.A., M.A.T., and M.F.A. degrees in visual art and emphases in K-12 teacher certification, 2D Studio, and 3D Studio. Current studio faculty specialize in ceramics, painting, photography, and sculpture and collaborate with faculty in other departments that offer courses in art history and graphic design. The Department partners with the College of Education on assessment of the B.A. and M.A.T. programs in Art Education. Eligible candidates must have a master’s degree in art education and K-12 teaching experience. Preference is given to those with university-level teaching experience and a doctorate. Candidates should have credentials to teach a variety of Art Education courses at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as courses related to their areas of specialization. The teaching load is 30 contact hours across fall and spring semesters. Summer teaching is strongly desired and merits additional compensation. Service responsibilities will focus on advising and mentoring students for success. Lander supports on-going training and professional development through its Center for Faculty Excellence. Experience with assessment as well as partnerships with K-12 schools, technical colleges, and/or community organizations is strongly preferred.
