Job Summary:
The Part-Time Art Instructor will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing visual arts activities for youth ages 6-18. The instructor will foster creativity and self-expression through various art mediums in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that aligns with the mission and values of the Boys & Girls Club.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver age-appropriate art activities, lessons, and projects. Incorporate a variety of mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and digital art. Encourage youth participation while promoting self-expression, confidence, and creativity. Manage art supplies and maintain a clean, safe, and organized art room. Display members’ artwork in the Club to recognize effort and talent. Collaborate with other staff to support special events, exhibitions, and art-related projects. Monitor members to ensure safety and positive behavior in the art area. Track attendance and provide brief activity reports as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; some college or formal art training preferred. Experience working with youth in an educational, recreational, or creative environment. Strong background or passion for the arts. Ability to inspire and motivate youth. Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills. Must pass background check and meet employment requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods. Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds occasionally. Some bending, stooping, and reaching required.
