The Opportunity:
Royal Palm Academy is seeking a faith-filled, inspiring, and mission-aligned Art Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time, salaried position with competitive compensation and benefits. The Art Teacher will lead a once-weekly art class for every grade from Pre-K3 through 8th grade, with an emphasis on hands-on art-making, exploration, and creative formation. This is a special position, and we are seeking a special candidate. We are looking for an Art Teacher who not only has talent and skill, but who sees art as a sacred opportunity to participate in our holistic program to form and shape souls.
Position Overview:
As the Art Teacher at Royal Palm Academy, you will lead students in actively creating art that is beautiful, meaningful, and rooted in joy. You will guide students in discovering their own creative voice, developing their skills, and deepening their understanding of artistic beauty as a reflection of divine goodness. Your classroom will be filled with color, creativity, and wonder—where students delight in making good art that is good for the soul. You will also play an exciting role in shaping the future of our art program. As part of our capital expansion, Royal Palm Academy is building a brand-new state-of-the-art Art Studio, scheduled to open in Fall 2026. This teacher will work with school leadership to help ensure this new studio becomes a modern, inspiring space for young artists from age 3 to 14.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and teach engaging, hands-on art lessons once per week for all grades, PK3-8 Introduce students to a wide variety of artistic media, techniques, and visual styles Foster a classroom environment that celebrates wonder, exploration, and joyful expression Help students understand art as a vehicle for beauty, truth, and goodness—rooted in our Catholic faith Integrate age-appropriate lessons in art history, sacred art, and the relationship between faith and beauty Display student artwork throughout the school and during key school events Identify and nurture students with exceptional interest or aptitude in the arts Support the development of an after-school Art Club and future elective art programming Collaborate with school leadership on the planning and design of the new RPA Art Studio Maintain and manage art materials, tools, and a safe, inviting studio environment Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, faculty, and school leadership Uphold the mission and Catholic identity of Royal Palm Academy in all areas of instruction
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a school or studio setting Passion for Catholic education and a deep love for the beauty of the Church’s tradition Skilled in a variety of artistic media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media Experience working with elementary and middle school students across multiple age levels Strong classroom management, communication, and organization skills Deep alignment with Royal Palm Academy’s Catholic identity and mission
Preferred Qualifications:
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the ability to integrate faith naturally into teaching Familiarity with sacred art, Catholic aesthetics, or classical education philosophy Experience with art contests, exhibitions, or after-school enrichment programs
Physical and Other Demands:
Able to lead hands-on art activities across multiple grade levels and class settings Comfortable lifting and organizing classroom materials and displays (up to 20 pounds) Willingness to supervise and engage students in a dynamic and creative environment Ability to manage a full teaching schedule across Pre-K3 through 8th Grade once weekly
