Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced MS Art Teacher to join our team at Navigator Academy of Leadership, Inc. As an MS Art Teacher, you will be responsible for providing students with a comprehensive education in the visual arts, including art history, theory, and practice. You will be expected to create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression. Your ultimate goal will be to help students develop their artistic skills and appreciation, and prepare them for future academic and professional pursuits in the field of art.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related field from an accredited institution. Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Art Education (grades 6-12). At least 2 years of successful teaching experience in middle school art education. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in a variety of art media, techniques, and technologies, and ability to teach them effectively to students of different ages and abilities. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Art Education or related field from an accredited institution. Experience in teaching art to diverse student populations, including English Language Learners and students with special needs. Experience in integrating technology into art education, such as digital art, graphic design, and multimedia. Experience in developing and implementing interdisciplinary projects and programs that connect art with other subjects, such as science, math, and social studies. Experience in participating in art exhibitions, contests, and other public events that showcase student work and promote community engagement.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with state and national standards, and meets the needs and interests of students at different levels of proficiency and learning styles. Plan and deliver engaging and interactive art lessons that incorporate a variety of techniques, media, and technologies, and provide students with opportunities to explore and experiment with different forms of art. Assess and evaluate student learning and progress through a variety of methods, such as observation, performance, and portfolio review, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to integrate art into other subjects and activities, and promote interdisciplinary learning and creativity. Participate in professional development activities, such as workshops, conferences, and training sessions, to enhance your knowledge and skills in art education, and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in the field.
