ART TEACHER PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Lead Art Teacher, the Art Teacher is responsible for providing quality evidence-based and/or curriculum-centered programming to club members in a safe, supportive, experiential learning environment.

KEY ROLES

(Essential Job Responsibilities)

  • In collaboration with the Lead Art Teacher, develops and delivers age-appropriate art lessons that align with Reader’s Theater.
  • Supports the Lead Art Teacher with four family events that showcase costumes, set design, and props created by the club members in a reading of the play.
  • Maintains consistent communication with supervisor in relation to the club’s academic progress.
  • Provide active supervision when interacting with members and provide motivation and encouragement.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:

Maintain close daily contact with supervisor, Education Director, Club staff, and volunteers to receive and provide information.

External:

Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, and others.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Previous experience teaching students Art High level of creativity and innovation Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to work easily with people at all levels and geographies within the organization.
