Position Summary:
The Art Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and standards-based instruction in visual arts to students in grades 6-12. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator with a strong foundation in art history, studio techniques, and digital media, who can inspire creativity while reinforcing academic rigor.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum aligned with state standards Create a classroom environment that promotes artistic expression, creativity, and critical thinking Teach a range of art disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art Organize student art exhibitions and participate in school-wide events Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom space with a focus on positive behavior support Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field Valid state teaching certification in Art (Grades 6-12) Prior teaching experience in a middle or high school setting preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Proficient in traditional and digital art platforms and tools
