K-8 Visual Arts Instructor 4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 106 East Church Street, Orlando, FL 32801 A deep faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and acceptance of the authority of Scriptures as a guide for faith and living Actively pursues spiritual growth through personal devotions, Bible study, church involvement, etc. Understand and actively support The Christ School mission, vision, and defining characteristics Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university, preferably in Art Education or a related art field with elementary/K-8 certification. Proficiency in GoogleSuite (docs, sheets, gmail, calendar) Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain artistic concepts and techniques to students of varying ages and skill levels. Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the job Must be able to effectively traverse possibly uneven ground Must be able to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs and transport about 10-15 pounds, including art supplies and student artwork. Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of art media, techniques, and processes appropriate for elementary and middle school students (e.g., drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, crafts). Experience in developing and implementing age-appropriate art curriculum that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the visual arts. Ability to integrate art with other subject areas and connect artistic concepts to biblical teachings where appropriate. Experience managing art supplies and equipment effectively and safely. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in education or art education and at least 5 years of experience teaching art, preferably in an independent, Christian school setting working with students across the K-8 grade span.
