Art and STEAM Teachers 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 24 Lincoln Street, Lexington, MA 02421 The J.W. Hayden Recreation Centre, Inc., a private non-profit youth recreation facility in Lexington, MA, is looking for enthusiastic and creative part-time instructors in Art and STEAM.

Department:

Enrichment Reports to: Assistant Recreation Facility Director Job responsibilities are: Activity instruction of assigned classes for youth members preschool age through high school. Activity curriculum design and implementation. Equipment/supply ordering and care. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom space. Work with the Assistant Recreation Facility Director to evaluate programs, address program needs and address unique member needs or behaviors. Supervise, guide and evaluate Hayden Helper volunteers assigned to assist you in designated classes.

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

Degree or proven experience in your area/medium of instruction. Experience working with children of different ages and abilities. Classroom and/or group management experience. Ability to communicate with others – members, parents and staff – in a courteous, patient, and respectful manner. Flexible and effective problem-solving skills.

Other:

First Aid & CPR certification (certification training is provided).

Hours/Schedule:

Primarily school year, September-May. Summer opportunities are also available.

Flexible Hours are available:

Monday-Friday afternoons and evenings, and Saturday mornings and early afternoons. The Hayden Centre was established over 60 years ago in an effort “to establish a place of meeting of the youth of Lexington for their moral, mental and social improvement and development and in general to do all things which may promote directly or indirectly their intellectual, social and physical welfare.” We look forward to hearing from you!
