Job Description
The Delaney Elementary School is looking fo an elementary art teacher (0.8 teaching position) the 2025-2026 school year to fill a one year leave of absence. This position is Monday through Thursday.
Wrentham Public Schools services students in grades K-6. As one of two art teachers across the Delaney and Roderick Schools, this position would involve working with students in Kindergarten through Grade 2.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with teachers across the grades and the other specialists and administrators. The elementary art teacher would be expected to:
1. Develop, implement, and coordinate the curriculum so that the curriculum is aligned with the state frameworks.
2. Teach skills in art appreciation and exploration.
3. Plan a balanced art program and organize daily class time so that preparation, instruction, and assessment can be accomplished within the allotted time.
4. Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
5. Utilize a variety of all types of material, including traditional and contemporary, that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of pupils.
6. Control the storage and use of school-owned property.
7. Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during class.
8. Evaluate each pupil’s artistic growth and development.
9. Select and requisition materials and maintain required inventory.
10. Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress.
11. Cooperate with school administration in providing assistance with artistic related projects.
12. Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs.
13. Participate in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities.
14. Participate cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.
15. Keep informed about current trends and practices in art and art education.
16. Plan and execute an Art Show to allow student artists to share their work in a gallery format.
