Full-Time, Seasonal Summary of position: The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children’s Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. The Manville School, a highly successful and reputable educational program, is seeking an ESY Art Teacher for July 7 – August 1, 2025 (onboarding date: 6/24/25). The Extended School Year (ESY) Art Teacher plans and implements art instruction for students with complex learning and social-emotional challenges for the upcoming extended summer school year. The ESY Art Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an arts and crafts program that guides and encourages student engagement and exploration. The ESY Art Teacher collaborates with classroom team members to support student participation and discovery. The ESY Art Teacher orders and organizes summer art supplies with support from the specialist supervisor. What’s in it for me? Essential duties:

Develops and implements developmentally appropriate lessons for Manville students in grades K-12. Collaborates with special education teacher to ensure compliance with students’ IEP goals, objectives, and accommodations. Develops and implements classroom behavior management appropriate to the age and social/emotional levels of students. Fosters positive self-esteem and social growth of students through art exploration activities. Creates and maintains a respectful classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. Plans and implements the daily art elective block.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelors required, with corresponding MA teaching certification Visual Arts Pre-8; 5-12 in good standing. Teaching Certification/Statement of Eligibility/or DOE Waiver is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year experience in Art Education with a similar population.

Training:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite. First Aid/CPR and Physical Restraint training is required or ability to participate in annual training at beginning of employment and annually or as needed throughout tenure. Cover letter and a recent resume required for consideration.

Logistics License/Certification:

MA teaching certification Visual Arts Pre-8; 5-12 in good standing.

Salary:

$7,500 – $8,000
