The ideal candidate will inspire students through comprehensive visual arts education, spanning traditional fine arts techniques including drawing, painting, printmaking, and three-dimensional works to modern digital design and graphic arts and will have an Art G5-12 certification and teaching experience. Working under the direction of the Dean of Humanities Faculty, this position will design creative and engaging lessons, units, and projects that incorporate historical and cultural influences while developing students’ artistic capabilities and creativity. At the Academy for Science and Design, we believe in cultivating a strong sense of curiosity and inquiry in our students. As the Art Teacher, you will be an essential part of this mission, encouraging students to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and think creatively. You will also work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to integrate technology, interdisciplinary connections, and real-world applications into your teaching. The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Art or a related field
- A valid teaching certification and/or relevant teaching experience is ideal
- Strong subject matter expertise and a passion for teaching and learning
