$19 / HR
- $25 / HR The Summer Camp Art Activity Specialist will create and implement classes/workshops encouraging students’ creativity through various types of art, i.
e. painting, drawing, clay etc.
Major Duties:
Assist in the recruitment of class participants and retaining participants Create and facilitate art activities for groups of up to 25 participants. Develop art curriculum (based on students’ interest) encompassing an array of different aspects of the art industry; providing participants with experience and knowledge of various artistic professions. Curriculum will promote creativity, self-expression, mastery, and emotional and professional growth. Attend and participate in staff meetings Create a youth development, strength’s based environment, fostering a sense of belonging, safety, and community to participants. Arrange setup, operation and clean up of activities and the organization, inventory and storing of relevant supplies and equipment. Document classes/workshop planning as required Lead presentations for two culminating events (one per semester) showcasing students work. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Must be at least 18 years old. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience and/or training relevant to the position required. Candidates with some college, experience with adolescents and teaching/coaching youth are encouraged to apply. Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for young people Excellent planning, organization and time management skills Ability to engage youth, while setting structure and limits in a group setting. Energetic, motivated self-starter and a team player Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based, youth and family development and trauma-informed perspective. Must complete DOH and DOE clearances
