Art Teacher ColorPop Workshop 67 Jobs Lane, Southampton, NY 11968
Overview:
ColorPop is a creative space designed to inspire young artists ages 3-15 (with the occasional adult classes or event). We are seeking enthusiastic and creative individuals with an art background to join our team as Art Teachers. You will play a vital role in guiding children through weekly painting, clay and other mixed media camps, workshops and drop-in sessions while ensuring a welcoming and organized environment for all visitors.
Responsibilities:
Setup and Preparation:
Set up painting stations, canvases, brushes, and other materials needed for that days activities. Ensure supplies are restocked and organized for the day’s sessions.
Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:
Serve as the lead teacher for pre-determined weekly camp and workshop sessions occurring during shift, providing engaging and age-appropriate instruction. Guide children through creative projects, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Class and Drop-In Assistance:
Assist children with setting up their art projects. Fill and replenish paint palettes as needed. Provide clear, engaging instructions to help kids with techniques and creativity. Provide guidance throughout the duration of their project. Offer one-on-one support and encouragement during sessions.
Clean-Up Duties:
Daily cleaning and maintenance of the studio after classes. Wash brushes, palettes, and other reusable materials. Sanitize surfaces and ensure the studio is tidy and ready for the next day. Other Duties as
Assigned:
Assist with special events, such as birthday parties or group classes. Monitor and enforce studio rules to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
Compensation:
$25 per hour
Qualifications:
Background in art (formal education, training, or extensive experience). Experience working with children in a teaching or mentoring capacity is highly preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. A friendly and patient demeanor. Ability to lift and move materials (up to 25 lbs). Why Join Us? Be part of a creative and inspiring environment.
