Knoxville, TN Job Summary:
Knoxville Montessori School (KMS) is hiring a full-time Adolescent Guide to teach Spanish , lead community-based projects , and serve as a student advisor in our Middle and High School Adolescent Program. This is a collaborative teaching role that emphasizes real-world, holistic, Montessori-based education.
Responsibilities:
Teach Spanish as a Second Language using interactive, project-based, and culturally relevant methods. Co-lead implementation of Montessori curriculum , including classroom learning, urban agriculture, and micro-economy. Serve as advisor for a small group of students, supporting them in academic planning, internships, and capstone projects. Help organize and supervise school trips and off-campus experiences. Support the preparation and care of both indoor and outdoor learning environments . Participate in school fundraisers, including lead support on Greek Fest Parking. Collaborate with the Head of School and Adolescent team to evaluate student progress, communicate with families, and foster a positive school culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (required) Montessori training for ages 12-18 (AMI, AMS, or MACTE), or willingness to obtain certification Experience teaching adolescents; Montessori background preferred Ability to teach Middle & High School Spanish; bilingual preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Passion for nature, experiential learning, and adolescent development

Schedule:
