The Opportunity SUNY Columbia-Greene Community College isseeking qualified ESL instructors responsible for providinghigh-quality, engaging instruction in the areas of listening,speaking, reading, and writing skills to English-language learners.

Primary Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain an organizedand supportive learning environment. Holistically work with adiverse and multi-cultural adult student body. Maintain accuraterecords (attendance, class rosters, student academic progress).Prepare and implement effective lesson plans. Collaborative andcommunicate effectively with the Office of Continuing Education andWorkforce Development. Act as a liaison for students to utilizecampus and community resources as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s plus TESOL Certification (or a minimum of 9 graduatesemester hours in TESOL) Minimum 1-year ESL/EFL teaching experienceWork independently in designing dynamic classes Positively interactwith students from a variety of cultures and backgrounds
PreferredQualifications:
Master’s in TESOL Preference will be given tocandidates with demonstrated experience in teaching, preferably atthe college level, as well as experience in using educationaltechnology in classroom or online adaptations and a willingness toadopt new and emerging technologies. Salary and Benefit InformationThe salary range for this position, $20 – 30 per hour, will becommensurate with education and work experience. Optional benefitsinclude NYS Local or Teacher’s Retirement, supplemental life andretirement, including NYS Deferred Comp, tuition waiver, and PSLFwaivers for those who meet eligibility.
