The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and expertise in various Electrical practices, theory, safety procedures, and industry standards. As an Electrical instructor, you will be responsible for preparing trainees for successful Electrical and building trades careers. You will ensure they develop proficiency in Electrical processes and techniques using both practical skills and theoretical knowledge. Responsibilities Ensure Spanish-speaking students are able to matriculate through coursework and hands-on skills training. Ensure trainees earn industry-based certifications that are aligned with the Electrical training program and are employment-ready. Assist with developing and delivering comprehensive Electrical training programs (aligned to NCCER and MC3) for trainees at different skill levels. Assist with developing curriculum materials, daily lesson plans, and instructional resources. Instruct trainees on fundamental Electrical theory, techniques, and best practices. Demonstrate proper use of Electrical hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Teach trainees how to read and interpret electrical drawings and wire electrical projects efficiently. Deliver effective hands-on training and guidance to trainees in the Electrical lab. Assess trainee progress routinely through practical assignments, tests, and evaluations. Facilitate additional assessments as necessary. Offer constructive feedback and support to help trainees improve their Electrical skills. Stay updated on advancements in Electrical technology, materials, and industry trends. Collaborate effectively with other instructors, program coordinators, case managers, and other staff to enhance the effectiveness of training programs and trainee outcomes. Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment. Serve as a mentor for trainees to support successful employment after certification. Assist with the outfitting and maintenance of a safe and organized Electrical lab and collaborative courtyard environment, ensuring compliance with NOCC and industry safety standards and regulations. Recommend, purchase, maintain, and catalog supplies and equipment. Required Skills and Preferred Experience Bilingual in English and Spanish. Certified NCCER Electrical levels 1 and 2 Proven experience as an Electrical instructor or similar role is strongly preferred. Success working as an Electrician in residential and commercial construction is preferred. Extensive knowledge of Electrical best practices, tools, and materials. Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations in Electrical and construction. Effective teaching and communication skills. Ability to demonstrate hands-on Electrical techniques effectively. Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching and mentoring. Organizational skills with the ability to plan and deliver structured instructional activities. Willingness to attend NCCER (or MC3) development to become a certified NCCER Crafts Instructor and/or Proctor as part of professional development Collaborative and flexible with instructional methods and delivery.
This role reports directly to:
Director of Building Trades Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
