Sharon High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate full-time Spanish teacher to join our collaborative World Languages team. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator capable of teaching students across a range of proficiency levels, from novice-low to intermediate-high. A valid Massachusetts teaching license in Spanish is required. Our department follows the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines and embraces comprehensible input as a key instructional approach. The ideal candidate is also someone eager to plan and lead international trips and/or exchange programs. Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Planning and Delivery Design and implement engaging, standards-based Spanish lessons. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Incorporate comprehensible input strategies and ACTFL proficiency targets. Use a variety of instructional strategies, including technology, to support language development. Assessment and Evaluation Develop and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with proficiency goals. Provide timely, constructive feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress. Classroom Management Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment. Apply effective classroom management strategies that support engagement and respect. Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with World Language colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and instructional coherence. Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff through various platforms. Support department initiatives including exchange programs and travel opportunities. Professional Growth Participate in professional development to enhance Spanish pedagogy and stay current with ACTFL standards and DESE guidance.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Massachusetts educator license in Spanish (5-12). Proven experience teaching secondary Spanish. Knowledge of ACTFL proficiency standards and comprehensible input approaches. Commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in developing thematic, proficiency-based curriculum. Experience leading or interest in leading student trips abroad. Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction.
