Part-time High School French Teacher
beginning in the 2025-2026 School Year This job is a .6 FTE
(Monday-Friday 7:55 a.m. – 12:10 p.m.)

QUALIFICATIONS
Professional Certification:
MA DESE license as a French Teacher;
SEI Endorsement preferred
Specialized Knowledge:
adolescent development, World Language curriculum frameworks, growth mindset, inclusive practices, cultural proficiency, anti-bias instruction, co-teaching, social-emotional learning, technology integration
CORI and Fingerprinting:
All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00.
Preferred Experience:
Experience teaching English Language learners in a diverse public school setting Experience teaching students with special needs, including students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges
Strong background in language instruction
Highly desirable to have experience with:
ACTFL Proficiency Standards
Proficiency-focused curriculum and instruction
Collaborative department planning
Skills:
Multi-task in a fast-paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth
Plans and implements differentiated lessons and ongoing formative assessments
Applies knowledge of current research and theory to instructional design with a demonstrated commitment to remain current in content knowledge Partners and collaborates with department colleagues and specialists

Integrates technology in order to enhance student learning experiences
Demonstrate a belief in a growth mindset for students
Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable

Creates a welcoming and supportive learning environment that embraces the diversity among individuals and ensures equitable opportunities for student learning Monitors students’ understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusts instruction, materials or assessments when appropriate
Evaluates and refines instructional practice and assessment strategies to increase student learning, engagement, and confidence in learning;
Participates in professional development activities, internal and external, and meets requirements for licensure recertification;
Participates in all faculty and committee meetings as required, and district-wide committees as needed
Any other relative duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The French teacher does not have supervisory responsibilities, except to direct any paraeducators who may be working with a student in the classroom.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary, benefits, and responsibilities per contract between the Westborough School Committee and the Westborough Education Association.
