Afternoon Academy Coordinator
JOB STATUS
Part-Time CONTACT:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
This is a temporary, part time grant-funded position that will begin August 14, 2025 and conclude June 12, 2026. Weekly hours range from 10-20 hours (not to exceed 20 hours). Reports to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Curriculum & Instruction Team, school principals, transportation director, and teachers to: Create and maintain an afterschool tutoring schedule Monday-Friday for grades 3-12 for each school for the 2025-2026 school year. Maintain accurate records of teacher tutors working at each school. Maintain accurate records of bus drivers transporting students. Maintain accurate attendance rosters for students attending each day at each school. Maintain accurate records of pre and post achievement data for students. Effectively communicate individual school tutoring schedules to schools, staff, and families. Order supplies and materials needed for tutoring sessions. Visit school sites periodically to monitor progress. Regularly report to the Curriculum and Instruction team about student attendance and progress monitoring of student performance. Collaborate with private schools receiving equitable services to: Maintain accurate records of teacher tutors working at each school. Maintain accurate attendance rosters for students attending each day at each school. Maintain accurate records on pre and post achievement data for students. Adhere to ACS Human Resource guidelines for hiring and compensation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent communication with staff, students, family and community. Organizational skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Technical experience with Google Suite and facilitating virtual meetings. Ability to create and maintain accurate records.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Classroom experience, certified teacher license Leadership experience in coordinating school programs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to sit, stand, walk and drive a car. Must be able to lift mail and boxes up to 10 lbs. Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time. Physical demand requirements are for Light Work.

Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural or composite characteristics (whether similar or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things.
Interpersonal Communication:
Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information. Includes giving instructions, assignments or directions to subordinates or assistants.
Language Ability:
Requires the ability to read simple forms. Requires the ability to prepare time sheets and supply requisitions using prescribed format.
Intelligence:
Requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
Verbal Aptitude:
Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in standard English.
Numerical Aptitude:
Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas, to add, subtract, divide and multiply.
Motor Coordination:
Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately in using a keyboard.
Manual Dexterity:
Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
Interpersonal Temperament:
Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under minimal levels of stress.
