Adjunct Instructor, Spanish 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 9101 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh, NC 27603 Position Description Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Spanish classes. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner Maintains accurate records of students work and attendance Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour Grades and returns student work in a timely manner Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Utilizes innovative learning strategies to engage learners and support the goals of the course Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom Uses assessments technique to improve learning and teaching Attends professional development opportunities when possible Maintains a safe, collaborative, and respectful working environment Demonstrates good management and care of college/departmental resources
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning Maintains a respectful and productive classroom environment Be innovative, creative, motivated Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently Good organizational skills Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including computers, and web-based resources such as Blackboard Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in both Spanish and English Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Spanish or a Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in Spanish Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English Two years of post-secondary teaching experience At least one year of post-secondary experience teaching online Unofficial college transcripts must be uploaded with your application or submitted to the HR office prior to consideration for interview.
