ESL Teacher Ann Street School 30 Ann Street, Newark, NJ 07105 Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English As A Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to educating non-native speakers and facilitating their language acquisition in a supportive and engaging classroom environment. This role requires effective communication skills, creativity in lesson planning, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cater to the varying levels of English proficiency among students. Educate students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through interactive and practical activities. Utilize various teaching strategies to enhance literacy education and promote language development. Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment conducive to student engagement. Provide teacher coaching and support to colleagues as needed, fostering a collaborative teaching atmosphere. Adapt instructional materials for special education students or those with unique learning requirements. Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Facilitate adult language education programs, promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all participants. Encourage bilingual communication where appropriate, enhancing cultural understanding among students. Experience Proven experience in teaching English as a Second Language or related fields is preferred. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and strategies for engaging diverse learners. Experience in lesson planning that incorporates various educational resources and technologies. Background in literacy education or special education is advantageous. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with students and staff alike.
