High School Spanish Instructor Reports to:
High School Principal Time Status:
Part-Time The High School Spanish Instructor will report to the High School principal. The primary duties of this position are to prepare lessons centered around a biblical worldview, create an engaging classroom environment, and maintain consistent lines of communication with administration, parents, and students.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach assigned High School Spanish courses that focus on oral and written communication skills. Devise lesson plans that follow GCA’s Curriculum and Instruction Standards and Course Maps Demonstrate and reinforce an appreciation for world cultures. Hold students to an articulated standard of performance. Utilize a variety of teaching methods. Differentiate instruction for students with learning challenges. Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes safe learning. Create lessons that clearly present a Christian worldview. Facilitate course discussions on social issues through a Christian lens while acknowledging various denominational differences to avoid divisive opinions. Utilize Google Classroom for instructional resources. Update grades and lesson plans weekly.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Offer Academic Support each morning before school. Attend Weekly Professional Learning Community. Participate in extra programs (Beyond the Classroom, Winterim, School Retreat). Attend after-school programming as requested.
