Whiddon College of Medicine is undergoing a multi-year expansion and is recruiting individuals who are dedicated to excellence in research, teaching, and training the next generation of biomedical research scientists. We invite applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. We seek individuals with multi-disciplinary expertise and whose research complements the department’s programs focused on infectious and immunologic diseases. Successful candidates must hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or DVM /PhD degree with a strong record of research productivity. Individuals seeking the rank of associate professor will have demonstrated ability to sustain an extramurally funded research program. Positions are supported by competitive start-up packages with excellent laboratory and core facilities including state-of-the-art BSL2/(A)BSL3/ACL3 laboratories. Ample opportunities exist for interdisciplinary interactions with basic, translational, and clinical investigators in the Whiddon College of Medicine, the Center for Lung Biology, and the Mitchell Cancer Institute.
