Job Summary The Department of Biological Sciences at East Tennessee State University is seeking a full-time non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Lecturer to begin on August 15th, 2025. This is a 9-month, 3-year renewable appointment. This lecturer will be responsible for teaching freshman biology courses for Science majors and non-majors at the ETSU Kingsport campus and the ETSU main campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the graduate teaching assistants for teaching introductory biology/biochemistry laboratories. Additional responsibilities include biennially reviewing and editing the laboratory materials, and teaching an upper-level course in the lecturer’s area of expertise as needed. In addition, the lecturer also could teach one or more courses during the summer months for additional compensation. The Department of Biological Sciences is currently comprised of fifteen faculty members engaged in a wide range of research programs and serves approximately 450 majors and over 40 Masters and Ph.D. students.
