FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
(FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor- Marketing. Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state’s peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia’s second-largest public university in area. JOB SUMMARY
Fort Valley State University’s Department of Business Administration invites applications and nominations for part-time positions in Marketing.
MAJOR DUTIES
Teach marketing classes and demonstrating skills and/or knowledge in the discipline. Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods. Develop and use a syllabus for each course or laboratory in accordance with college, discipline, and departmental guidelines, and submit a copy to the department chair. Planning, developing, and employing a variety of innovative teaching methods and materials that help students meet course objectives and learning outcomes. Adapt instruction to accommodate students with diverse educational backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles. Evaluating students to assess their progress toward achieving course objectives and learning outcomes, and providing timely feedback on their performance. Maintain accurate records of student performance and submitting related reports and forms within required timelines. Review, evaluating, and recommending appropriate student textbooks and learning materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Marketing. Minimum of eighteen (18) graduate credit hours in Marketing from an accredited business school At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level Experience teaching in both face-to-face and online modalities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., student evaluations, peer reviews, teaching awards) Relevant industry or business experience in the field of Marketing.
