Full-time Lecturer/Instructor in Finances 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars One Drexel Drive, New Orleans, LA 70125 Posting Details Posting Summary Position Title Full-time Lecturer/Instructor in Finances FLSA Department Division of Business Job Summary The Divison of Business at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applicants for a full-time Lecturer/Instructor position in Finances beginning August 2025. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Masters Degree in a related field along with professional certification such as CPA or CMA. Candidates with a doctorate in Accounting or a Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting are also encouraged to apply. Practical experience in public accounting, business, audit, non-profit, or governmental accounting, and prior college-level teaching experience are strongly preferred. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree is required by August 1, 2025. The ideal candidate will demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and research with undergraduate students. Teaching responsibilities include 12 contact (teaching credit hours) hours per academic semester. Courses offered as part of the curriculum are available on the Division of Business website The Division of Business is an ACBSP Accredited program with a mission to Prepare Tomorrow’s Socially Responsible Leaders. This is a historically excellent, nationally renowned Accounting program. Our faculty members are active scholars who teach a highly engaged undergraduate population. The Division is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, minimizing barriers and increasing equity and completion rates between members of different demographic groups. Minimum Qualifications Masters Degree in Accounting, M.B.A., or masters degree in a related field along with professional certification such as CPA or CMA . Preferred Qualifications An earned Doctorate in Accounting or a Doctorate in Business Adminstration with a concentration in Finances. Successful experience in undergraduate teaching. Successful experience teaching to a diverse student body and knowledge of effective strategies (e.g. culturally responsive or inclusive pedagogy, awareness of issues that may affect the success of minoritized students). Awareness of pedagogical best practices and ongoing commitment to developing and maintaining knowledge in this area.

Teach undergraduate Finances courses. Candidates should be prepared to teach a 4/4 course load of mainly in-person undergraduate courses. Participate in service to the division through participation in advising and faculty meetings.
