The Business Teacher fosters a love of learning that encourages student curiosity, engagement, and growth in a welcoming community of learners. Macroeconomics, Business Concepts, Entrepreneurship and utilizes a variety of resources as instructional materials. Courses to be taught include Marketing, Business Management, and Financial Investing.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field

Specialized Knowledge:

adolescent development, curriculum frameworks, growth mindset, inclusive practices, cultural proficiency, anti-bias instruction, co-teaching, social-emotional learning, technology integration

CORI and Fingerprinting:

All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00.

Preferred Experience:

Experience teaching English Language Learners in a diverse public school setting Experience with students with special needs, including students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges Strong background with Business/Math instruction Demonstrated skills in effectively and appropriately integrating technology into lesson design

Evaluate instructional practice and assessment strategies to increase student learning, engagement, and confidence in learning Participate in professional development activities as required and that meet district expectations and the requirements for licensure recertification; Any other relative duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Teacher does not have supervisory responsibilities for other staff, except to direct any paraeducators who may be assigned to his/her/their classroom.

Salary, benefits, and responsibilities per the contract between the Westborough School Committee and the Westborough Education Association.
