We serve students from kindergarten through 12th grade with a focus on excellence, opportunity, and impact. We are seeking a mission-driven, innovative High School Business & Entrepreneurship Teacher to lead students through an engaging curriculum focused on business principles, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial thinking. This position is ideal for someone passionate about empowering young people to think creatively, solve problems, and explore real-world applications of business in their communities and beyond. The ideal candidate will bring content expertise, strong instructional skills, and a deep commitment to student success—especially for historically underserved populations.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction & Curriculum Delivery Design and implement standards-aligned lessons in Business, Entrepreneurship, and related subjects (e.g., financial literacy, marketing, business management). Provide students with real-world business concepts and case studies that foster problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation. Lead students through hands-on projects such as developing business plans, conducting market research, and presenting entrepreneurial pitches. Integrate technology, financial tools, and business simulations to enhance student learning. Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and skill levels. Use assessments (formative and summative) to measure student mastery and guide instruction. Classroom Culture & Student Engagement Build a classroom culture that encourages creativity, collaboration, risk-taking, and resilience. Set and maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for all students. Create a safe and inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and ideas. Maintain regular communication with families about student progress and opportunities. Collaboration & Professional Growth Work closely with school leadership, instructional coaches, and peers to align lessons to school-wide goals and student needs. Participate in professional development and coaching cycles to grow your instructional practice. Serve as a role model and mentor, especially for students interested in business, economics, or entrepreneurship careers. Contribute to the broader school community through clubs, competitions (e.g., DECA, Junior Achievement), and school events.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Education, or a related field (required) Valid North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Business Education (preferred) Experience teaching high school students in business, entrepreneurship, or career-focused pathways (preferred) Strong content knowledge, classroom management, and real-world application skills Commitment to educational equity and preparing students for long-term success in life, college, and career
