Job Posting Title Visiting Lecturer in Chemistry Job Description Summary Faculty Job Description The Chemistry Department of Wellesley College invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer position in Chemistry for the Fall 2025 semester. This is a benefits-eligible position, teaching a full load (one lecture course and three labs, or the equivalent) for the fall semester. There is a possibility of extension for the Spring 2026 semester. Applicants should have a broad background in chemistry, experience teaching undergraduates, and strong teaching, writing, and interpersonal skills. Candidates must be prepared to teach laboratory or lecture sections of organic chemistry and/or general chemistry. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent degree by the time of appointment, although candidates who are ABD will be considered. Wellesley College is a highly selective liberal arts college for undergraduate women located in the suburbs of Boston, USA, with a student body of ~2300 that is very diverse along many dimensions. In recent years, the NSF has ranked us as the top liberal arts college nationally in terms of generating female Ph.D.s in STEM fields.
