Position Summary
The Softball Coach is responsible for supervising the softball program in accordance with state and national regulations, including the recruitment and awarding of scholarships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise the Softball program in accordance with state and national regulations.
Recruit individuals for the softball team; award softball scholarships to appropriate individuals.
Host visits with recruits and their families; assist with finding living quarters.
Determine the eligibility of softball athletes and make proper reports to the Alabama Junior College Conference, National Junior College Athletic Association, and other appropriate agencies.
Work to ensure the academic success of softball players.
Develop the schedule for fall and spring softball seasons.
Obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License. Maintain playing surfaces, including all associated facilities.
Follow appropriate guidelines for the softball budget; request all softball purchases and secure requisitions and purchase orders as required by the Business Office.
Cooperate with the bookstore to ensure the return of books provided to athletes on scholarship.
Maintain appropriate insurance files and physicals on players.
Promote and relate the softball program to themunity.
Promote the softball program state-wide and nationally.
Work with the Athletic Director to develop and maintain a fundraising program for softball.
Send appropriate notices of appreciation to individuals andanizations that make contributions to the softball program.
and encourage four-year institutions to sign LBWCC graduates to grants-in-aid.
Assist in the recruitment and retention of students.
Demonstrate personally the College’s Code of Conduct and ensure that all athletes observe this code on campus, at athletic events, and in themunity.
Support other athletic teams at the request of the Athletic Department
Serve as required game administrator for assigned home athletic contests. Assist with game day operations for assigned home athletic contests.
Assist in the development and submission of athletic department eligibility reports. Assist in the creation and management of athletics social media content and productions. Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. A minimum of three years of documented high school, collegiate, or professional women’s fast-pitch softball coaching experience.
