Job Description
A cheerleading coach at Wynne Public Schools would be responsible for teaching cheerleading skills, organizing practices/games, and overseeing the team. They would also ensure that the team follows the rules and regulations of the sport set forth by the Arkansas Activities Association, and the Wynne School District. The cheerleading coach is expected to obtain all necessary certification requirements set forth by the Arkansas Activities Association, the Arkansas Department of Education, and Wynne Public Schools.

Responsibilities:

Teach skills: Instruct cheerleaders on jumps, stunts, motions, halftime time performances, chants, and other fundamentals of the sport.
Organize practices: Plan and run practices for the team, including sideline cheers, halftime performances, and pep rally performances.

Supervise:

Oversee all practices and discipline of the team.

Evaluate:

Observe cheerleaders during practices and events to ensure safety and identify areas for improvement.
Conduct tryouts: Set up and run tryouts for new members.
Hold an annual orientation for student athletes and their parents/guardians prior to the beginning of tryouts to discuss expectations and requirements of the program.
Obtain appropriate credentials through a certified Varsity summer camp Manage budget: Oversee the budget for the team, including fundraising for uniforms, equipment, camp, and travel.
Follow rules: Ensure the team follows all relevant rules and regulations.
Organize events: Work with the Athletic Director to organize pep rallies and travel plans.
Provide up-to-date scores and statistics to local media and to staff for social media posting.
Encourage student athletes to participate in multiple sports. The Coach shall ensure that all subordinate coaches share and communicate this same philosophy.
Responsible for the use, care, storage, and inventory of all Wynne athletic equipment in the Cheer Program.
Proactively ensure the proper use, care, cleaning and maintenance of all facilities utilized by the Cheer Program for practices and games.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Athletic Director or Building Principal.
Acquire the state required certifications to coach cheerleading in a public school setting.
Required Skills Knowledge of cheerleading rules and regulations.
Ability to teach fundamental cheerleading skills.
Ability to motivate and maintain discipline.
Ability to work with the school administration.
Ability to obtain a CDL or acquire a non-commercial passenger endorsement to drive a 14 passenger bus to events.
