Seacrest Country Day School, a PS-12th grade independent, college preparatory school in Naples, Florida, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Varsity Swimming Assistant Coach to join our athletic department. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Coach in all facets of the swim program, including training, skill development, and supporting student-athletes in achieving their academic and athletic goals. Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices, focusing on skill development, technique improvement, and endurance training. Provide individualized feedback and coaching to swimmers to enhance their performance and technique. Support the Head Coach in developing meet strategies and lineups, ensuring optimal team performance. Attend all practices, swim meets, and team events, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. Assist in organizing team logistics, including travel arrangements, meet entries, and equipment management. Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, promoting a balance between athletics and academics. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.

Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience in swimming, preferably at the high school or collegiate level. Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training methods, and race strategies. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best. Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certification. Ability to pass a background check and meet all school and state requirements for coaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field. Experience competing in swimming at a high level. Knowledge of nutrition and injury prevention for swimmers. Compensation and Benefits This full-time instructional position will start on August 1, 2024, for the 2024-25 academic year.
