7/1/2025 Job Summary Primary responsibilities are to assist the Head Coach in all aspects of Division I program including, but not limited to, teaching student athletes how to perform basketball, coordinating team travel arrangements, game day personnel management, some recruiting and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Administration. This position will also assist the Head Coach in organization, administration, and promotion of the program. Approximately 60% of the Assistant Coach’s responsibility is dedicated to the instruction of basketball through on-field (or on-court) training and classroom training through use of video and other teaching techniques. Approximately 40% of the Assistant Coach’s responsibility is recruiting and other administrative duties. Candidates must be committed to the academic and athletic success of the student athletes.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Need to have organized plan on how to improve every player in the summer and during the season Make sure to incorporate film study in your teachings Work with Assistant Coaches to get detailed plans Need to see weekly schedule
MARKETING/GEAR
Work with BSN to make our gear look elite. Must continue to work and push the marketing department for content Always think forward
RECRUITING
Need daily call list. Know all the juniors out level a year early
SCOUTING
Organize film details for coach Be organized and prepared Pre Scouts- work ahead of our game schedule TRAVEL Assist with travel Make sure trips run smooth, have players on time
PRACTICE FACILITY/SWISHER MAINTENANCE
Make sure graduate assistants are on top of cleaning the building and making it presentable daily
GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITY
Organize bench and stat defensive patterns and habits. Matchups! HOUSING Handle on campus and off campus housing. Work with Director of Development
DAILY SCHEDULE FOR HEAD COACH
Required Skills/ Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations Mastery of sport coached Ability to lead, guide and direct graduate assistants, interns and student-athletes Willingness to form relationships with constituents and help fundraise
Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience:
1.
Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university, master’s degree preferred 2.
Minimum Work Experience:
Two years collegiate coaching experience at NCAA Division I level preferred 3.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with NCAA Division I Rules and Regulations Proven recruiting abilities Demonstrated leadership skills
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to physically perform essential job duties or have special accommodations arranged in advance
Work Conditions:
