Gymnastics and Tumbling Coach Stellar Dance Studio 21 SE Wenona Ave, Ocala, FL 34471 Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles and a commitment to fostering a love for dance in students of all ages. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, teaching dance techniques, and inspiring students to express themselves through movement. The Dance Instructor will work closely with both children and adults, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment; ages 2+. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to the skill levels of students. Teach various dance styles, ensuring proper techniques and safety measures are followed. Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their skills and confidence. Organize and participate in recitals, showcases, or other performance opportunities. Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression. Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary programs that may include theater or music. Stay updated on current trends in dance education and incorporate new methods into teaching practices. Skills The ideal candidate should possess the following skills: An experienced dance instructor specializing in Tap and Acrobatic Arts [tumbling & spotting] (certification in Acrobatic Arts is a plus). Proficient in lesson planning to create structured and effective classes. Experience in photography to document student progress and performances. Knowledge of adult education principles for teaching diverse age groups. Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of childhood development. Strong background in dance, with experience in various styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, aerial arts or contemporary. Familiarity with theater arts to integrate performance elements into dance instruction. Basic sewing skills for costume adjustments or repairs as needed for performances. Childcare experience is a plus, enhancing the ability to connect with younger students. Tutoring experience can be beneficial for providing additional support to students needing extra help.
