JOB SUMMARY

Miami Country Day School is seeking two (2) dynamic and motivated Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our Athletics and Physical Education team. This role is essential in enhancing the athletic performance, strength, and overall fitness of our student-athletes through the design and implementation of customized training programs. In addition to leading strength and conditioning efforts, this position also includes teaching at least one physical education class and collaborating closely with coaches and athletic trainers to foster a safe, motivating, and development-focused environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASKS

Designs and implements sport-specific strength and conditioning programs focused on performance, injury prevention, and athlete development Manages the daily operations of the weight room, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance Actively supervises training sessions to ensure proper form and adherence to safety protocols Schedules and coordinates weight room access for individuals and teams Maintains inventory and submit requests for equipment as needed Leads both individual and group training sessions for student-athletes across a variety of sports Provides instruction on proper lifting techniques, form, and best practices Monitors athlete progress and adjust training plans based on performance data Collaborates with coaches to align strength programs with sport-specific goals Supports athletic trainers in the implementation of rehab and recovery protocols Conducts regular fitness testing and assessments to track athletic development Integrates dynamic stretching and injury-prevention exercises into daily routines Cultivates a positive, disciplined, and inclusive training environment for all student-athletes Teach one or more physical education classes and support school-wide fitness initiatives Partners with PE staff to coordinate daily warmups and contribute to curriculum development

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a related field (preferred) Certification through NSCA (CSCS), NASM, or similar recognized organization (preferred) Previous experience working with high school athletes or in an educational setting Strong understanding of strength training, injury prevention, and athletic development Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to inspire and motivate students in both individual and group settings

Shifts:
