Tennis Instructor – PT Village of North Palm Beach (FL) North Palm Beach, FL Job Details Part-time $35 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Entry level Full Job Description JOB The Tennis Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing and teaching tennis lessons to include private, semi-private and group instruction. In addition, the Instructor promotes all club programs and activities by encouraging player participation and support. While teaching players of varying ages and skill sets, the Tennis Instructor strives to provide a safe, healthy and positive tennis experience from an educational, recreational and social perspective.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Plans and implements program activities while focusing on player participation, fellowship and satisfaction.
Instructs and leads participants in the proper tennis techniques as well as in the development of good sportsmanship behavior.
Assists supervisor with tennis operations and functions while adapting and contributing to the personality and culture of both the club and tennis experience.
Maintains accurate records and data pertinent to work schedules and program offerings and prepares written reports as requested.
Participates in tennis functions, socials, and special events as directed by supervisor.
Inspects the courts and equipment to ensure they are well maintained and safe for play and reports unsafe conditions as well as emergency incidents to supervisor. Administers and enforces tennis policies and procedures regarding play on club courts.
Encourages players to join teams, provides player leads to team captains and recruits new club players.
Attends staff/planning/professional development meetings as required. Sets up, takes down and stores equipment for instructional activities.
Reviews reservation sheets, confirms accuracy of work hours and assists staff with collections as needed.
Communicates clearly and regularly with supervisor and appropriate staff regarding programming issues/concerns, player complaints, suggestions for improvement, etc.
Strives to create an environment of inclusion for all players, identifying the learning styles that work best for each participant and adapting teaching methods accordingly. (The above list of essential functions is not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.)
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Tasks involve the frequent performance of moderately demanding work, typically involving some combination of balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching and handling and may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). In addition, the employee may be required to withstand ongoing daily physical demands of playing and coaching/teaching lessons which may involve standing for long periods of time and walking on uneven and/or slippery surfaces.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee regularly works in an outdoor environment with frequent exposure to hot, cold, wet or humid weather conditions and may be subjected to hazardous elements, e.g., dust, fumes, gases or airborne particles.
