Job Summary Assist the Head coach in all facets of coaching, mentoring and running of the women’s program along with supporting the Head Coach’s philosophy. The Part-Time Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach will work to make East Georgia State College (EGSC) the best learning environment possible. This is a position of Trust. Responsibilities On court instruction Recruiting quality student athletes Serve as an academic liaison Oversee/Manage the Student Assistant Assist in game management and preparation Assist in day to day operations if needed Assist in summer camps preparation and fundraising efforts Manage game time set up: referees, game equipment and set up Enforce EGSC code of conduct and team rules and procedures Assist in promoting growth of EGSC Other duties as assigned Provides safe transportation of East Georgia State College students in the approved fleet or rental vehicle. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship, playing experience, or having had a similar position for two or more years. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver¿s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Preferred Qualifications A degree in higher education is preferred. Two years of playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level or higher is preferred, but not required. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of NJCAA and GCAA rules and regulations Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles Knowledge of basketball rules and procedures Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs Skill in the coaching and training of student athletes Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions Skill in oral and written communication USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning, as well as the System Office.
