To learn more about the College of Coastal Georgia’s Vision, Mission and Values please click here: https://www.ccga.edu/about/visionmission/ Job Summary The men’s basketball assistant coach is a part-time position responsible for assisting the head coach in teaching skills and techniques, recruiting, game preparation, and scouting for the College of Coastal Georgia’s men’s basketball program. Responsibilities 1
- Assists the head coaches with all aspects of leading the teams including training, competing, scouting, scheduling, and recruiting 2
- Provides instruction to basketball student-athletes on the fundamentals, details, and strategies of basketball as assigned by the head coach. 3
- Assists the head coach in scouting and developing practices and game strategies. 4
- Complies with all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the College, The Sun Conference, and the NAIA. 5
- Completes assigned administrative duties in a timely manner. 6
- Works cooperatively with personnel in the Department of Athletics and always represents the College positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media and the general public 7
- Performs related work as required.
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
Other Required Qualifications
Must possess a current valid drivers license with acceptable driving record and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report review.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug testing.
Required Experience
Experience in coaching mens basketball at the intercollegiate, international, or professional level Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
Preferred Experience
More than three years experience as a coach a mens or womens intercollegiate basketball program or significant equivalent experience. Proposed Salary $15,000 / year Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate basketball.
Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles.
Knowledge of men’s and women’s basketball rules and procedures.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.

Skill in the coaching and training of student athletes.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
