Job Summary The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Rowing Coach on the Gainesville campus. The part time, non-benefitted Rowing Coach serves a primary role of managing the Rowing Club for UNG. This position oversees, advises, and recruits for the Rowing Club and assists with team skill instruction. This position manages the Rowing Club administratively by coordinating space reservations and equipment acquisition as needed. This position also coordinates with the Sport Club & Sport Team Coordinator for financial and administrative assistance. The Rowing Coach will also be responsible for building and maintaining a working relationship with Lake Lanier Rowing Club and other community partners. Weekend and evening hours will be required. Responsibilities Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Rowing Club including training, scheduling, and team management. This includes collaborating with team captains to instruct team member skill development and racing practices Responsible for overseeing annual rowing club tryouts, recruitment, and selection process, as well as, maintaining an updated team roster Develop and maintain rowing club procedure manuals and oversee risk management Manage and maintain the UNG Rowing web page and social media accounts. Maintain inventory and distribution of rowing apparel and equipment. and makes annual budget requests and procures supplies and equipment as needed Makes annual rowing budget requests and procure supplies and equipment as needed, in coordination with the Coordinator, Sport Clubs and Teams. Other Duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to work effectively with faculty/staff, students, employers, and community members. Ability to assess and reduce risk in recreation settings. Ability to prioritize tasks, work unsupervised, and stay organized. Requires general working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Two years of row experience required. Possesses current US Rowing membership or other national rowing association membership (Or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment). American Red Cross Adult CPR/First Aid/AED (Or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment). Georgia Boating License (Or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment). Preferred Qualifications Experience instructing or managing a rowing team preferred. Preferred experience with NCAA, Club level or IRA Rowing Preferred. Competition Rowing experience preferred.
