Position Summary:

The Stephens County High School Head Football Coach is responsible for leading and managing the high school football program. The coach will promote a positive and safe environment, teach the fundamentals of the sport, and foster student-athlete development on and off the field. The coach is expected to serve as a role model and uphold the mission and values of Stephens County Schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, coordinate, and supervise the football program for grades 9-12 in alignment with school and GHSA regulations. Provide effective instruction in football skills, techniques, strategy, and safety. Establish a culture of discipline, sportsmanship, academic commitment, and teamwork. Organize and conduct regular practices, team meetings, and game-day coaching. Collaborate with assistant coaches and ensure consistency in program expectations. Maintain communication with parents, school staff, and athletic administration. Ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and safely used. Promote positive student behavior and academic accountability among athletes. Coordinate with the middle school football program to support player development and alignment. Adhere to school board policies, athletic department guidelines, and state rules. Demonstrate current knowledge of strength and conditioning programs and work collaboratively with the coaches of all sports to build athletes Emphasize the importance of academic excellence and assist in monitoring and maintaining high academic standards for members of the football program Promote the program within the school and community Work cooperatively with parents and the

Athletic Director and School Administration Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field. Knowledge of football techniques, rules, and safety protocols. Must meet all coaching certification and training requirements. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to positively motivate and inspire student-athletes. Must pass all required background checks and clearances.
