Louisiana Tech University Athletics Department is seeking an Associate Sports Performance Coach with the primary sport responsibility of Women’s Basketball (other sport(s) will be assigned). This position is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits and reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Olympic Sports Performance.

Qualifications:
Education Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field required; Master’s degree preferred Experience and Training Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level Strong leadership skills Must have and maintain a national accredited Strength and Conditioning certification (CSCS, SCCC ) Must have and maintain
CPR/AED Certification Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Understanding of all sports and the training principals behind them. Ability to relate to and work with student athletes, coaches, and staff. Will be expected to work extended hours that are often outside of normal business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel with team(s) will be required. Key Responsibilities Plans, implements, and manages a program of on- and off-field athletic development to enhance the performance levels and well-being of the University’s student athletes. Designs and implements strength and conditioning programs, which include power, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, nutrition, and conditioning for assigned teams. Ensures safe and correct execution of exercise techniques. Monitors, documents, and reports athletes’ progression, including strength, speed, power and explosion metrics, to all athletes and coaches. Collaborates with athletic training staff in development of rehab protocols for injured athletes as well as development of alternative training methods for injured/rehabilitating athletes. Maintains an open line of communication with the other members of the performance staff, sport coaches, and athletes. Meets with recruits as requested by sport coaches. Ensures upkeep and maintenance of the weight room. Assist in the supervision of interns and students. Assist other performance coaches with their teams when needed. Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with student athletes and staff. Maintain highest levels of professionalism and integrity at all times in or outside of the workplace. Ensures all programs adhere to NCAA compliance and safety standards.
