Job Title:
Varsity Golf Coach
Location:
Pioneer Valley Regional School, Northfield, MA
Pioneer Valley Regional School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Varsity Golf Coach
to lead our golf program. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering skill
development, promoting sportsmanship, building team camaraderie, and creating a competitive
and supportive environment. This position requires strong leadership, effective communication
skills, and the ability to mentor student-athletes both on and off the course.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Oversee all aspects of the Varsity Golf program, including organizing and
conducting practices, developing match strategies, and preparing athletes for competition.
Player Development:
Focus on improving individual skills such as swing mechanics, course
management, and mental approach through instruction, drills, and practice rounds.
Match Management:
Create and implement game-day strategies, guide players during
matches, and maintain a positive, competitive environment.
Communication:
Foster open and positive communication with players, parents, school
administration, and other stakeholders.
Sportsmanship:
Promote integrity, respect, responsibility, and good sportsmanship both on
and off the course.
Team Culture:
Build a positive, inclusive team culture that encourages growth, confidence, and
teamwork among all athletes.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Athletic Director to ensure the golf program supports the
school’s academic and athletic missions.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all practices and matches adhere to school policies, league
guidelines, and MIAA regulations, with a strong focus on player safety and conduct.
Administrative Duties:
Manage team rosters, record practice and match attendance, track
performance statistics, and complete other administrative tasks as required by the Athletic
Director.
