Cross Country Coach – Duties While the primary focus of duties will be with the Boys team, the Boys and Girls teams are run as part of a program and there will also be involvement with the Girls team. As Assistant Coach, the individual will be responsible for monitoring and occasionally leading the runners in the execution of the daily practice schedule, ensure proper execution of drills and motivating runners. Assistant Coach will be instrumental in establishing a spirit of teamwork and cooperation for both Varsity and sub-varsity athletes. Individual will be expected to emphasize values of competitive athletics, acceptable personal behavior, decision-making and lasting values to each individual and should always serve as an exemplary professional. Individual will be expected to be in tune with the runners and provide feedback to the Head Coach on the effectiveness of the training plan as well as recommendations for improvements. Personal experience racing and coaching experience preferred. The season runs from the last week in August through Thanksgiving. Practices are Monday through Friday, 2:30 – 4:30 with meets once a week lasting until the approximately 7pm. Occasional Saturday meets, primarily later in the season.
