July 2025 Roxbury Community College Athletics Department is searching for a strong leader with great interpersonal skills to lead our Women’s basketball team in the future. The appointed individual will provide organization, direction, and daily administration of the Women’s Basketball Program. Will Identify and recruit academically and athletically talented student-athletes for the program. Will Coach/Teach athletes and oversee day-to-day program responsibilities. Will maintain a competitive and successful program. Will comply with NJCAA rules, regulations, and support NJCAA Division III Philosophy and Mission. Will Provide a positive experience to the student-athlete. Will Promote the program on campus and in the community.
Job Description:
Responsible for the recruitment of players as directed by the athletics Director and consistent with NJCAA rules and regulations.
Implement instructional practice opportunities for student-athletes.
Organize, Administer, and implement the Women’s Basketball Program.
Responsible for scouting opposing teams and supervising games.
Monitoring academic progress of student-athletes monthly to insure retention of athletes.
Develop pre-season conditioning program for student-athletes.
Promote activities for the program.
Perform administrative duties as assigned by the athletics Director.
Requirements:
Experience in coaching, playing at a higher education institution or high school level required.
Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree Preferred.
Knowledge of recruiting in Massachusetts and ability to judge high school players for talent to play on the Women’s Basketball team of the College are required.
Ability to instruct basketball related skills.
Ability to exhibit good judgement.
Support the Division’s Collaborative Mission.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
Ability to work flexible hours (nights & weekends) required.
Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
