Blue High School Job Goal(s): As an assistant cross country coach, you assist the head coach in designing the athletic programs and train the athletes with new techniques for competitions, focusing on effective ways to run long distances over different terrain. Qualifications Has the ability to assist and supervise a total sports program. The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions. Certifications Valid CHRC Performance Responsibilities Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Mt. Blue District Schools’ Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation. Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations. Education The coach must be at least 20 years of age, or a high school graduate. Experience Knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures. Knowledge of NFHS and MPA Rules. Demonstrate ability to instruct and supervise student athletes. Working Schedule Flexible after school hours required for scheduled races both home and away. Travel Requirements Travel to home and away races. Travel to state team and individual competitions when athletes qualify.
