GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

The Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for helping to build, recruit and maintain a competitive women’s basketball program on the Raymond Campus consistent with all of the goals of Hinds Community College and the policies and procedures outlined in the Athletic Department Handbook.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor’s required; Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
1-2 years of competitive college coaching experience
Certificate/License:
Familiar with MACCC and NJCAA governing rules
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES, not limited to the following but may include: Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices. Represent Hinds Community College and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity and quality. Adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of the department and the college, as well as the rules and regulations of the NJCAA and MACCC. Assist with all aspects of the baseball program; provides opportunities that challenge and support student-athletes to reach their full potential. Assist with the organization and administration of the baseball program, including but not limited to the following: recruiting, practice and game coaching, conditioning, academic monitoring, and public relations. Assist the head coach with recruiting plans and recruiting of potential student-athletes to the program. Assist the head coach in the scouting of opponents and in preparation of game and practice plans. Assist in monitoring all strength and conditioning activities for the program. Monitor all academics for student-athletes. Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and/or Director of Athletics that relates to the success of the program.
