Head Coach Women’s SoccerSUMMARY:

 The Head Coach is responsible to the Director of Athletics in all activities of the intercollegiate sports program in a specific area. The Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 In conjunction with the athletic director, assigns and promotes assistant coaches based on experience and performance.

Coordinates the work of assistant coaches.

Oversees the schedules and performance of team support staff such as trainers.

Assists the athletic director in providing performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 1. Responsible for assisting with the upkeep of the athletic facilities.2. Prepares bids for equipment and supplies as needed.3. Responsible for recruiting student-athletes.4. Prepares for practice, game organization, and strategy.5. Monitors student athletes’ class attendance, grade performance, and campus reports.6. Submits student information and dates/times for official absences.7. Collects student athletes’ information for insurance purposes.8. Responsible for complying with NJCAA, MACCC, and other rules and regulations pertaining to athletics.9. Responsible for scouting opponents.10. Works with other coaches to promote the total athletic program.11. Works in harmonious relations with faculty, staff, patrons, and students.12. Provides information to the public relations department as assigned.13. Responsible for inventory, scheduling, and travel.14. Responsible for making sure athletes prepare daily assignments and attend all classes.15. Supervises athletes in the dormitory, cafeteria, and on campus.16. Recommends, through the college’s planning process, the physical and budgetary needs of the athletic program.17. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Bachelor’s DegreePrevious coaching experience in the applicable team sport.

Strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work with faculty, staff, parents, and alumniAbility to work effectively within the guidelines of the Co-Lin Athletic Department, MACCC, and the NJCAExcellent interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skills.

Ability to appropriately communicate with athletes and coaches.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 Master’s DegreePrevious collegiate head basketball coaching experienceKnowledge of MACCC rules /regulationsPrevious recruiting experience in the state of MississippiProven leadershipProven commitment to the academic and athletic development of the student-athleteFirst Aid/CPR Certification

ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS

 Prolonged periods of standing and moving during practices, games, meets matches, and other competitions.

Must be able to watch and analyze videos of opposing teams.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds t a time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
